At St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that a child’s early years are the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our EYFS is a happy, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and discover the world around them. Every day is filled with opportunities for creative play, active learning, and joyful discovery, ensuring that children feel excited and confident about coming to school.
Our EYFS Lead, Mrs. Akinyemi, is an experienced practitioner who is passionate about creating lessons that are engaging, topical, and fun. She carefully plans learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and build independence. From storytelling and role play to outdoor adventures and hands-on exploration, every activity is designed to capture children’s interests and support their personal, social, and academic growth.
We follow a play-based approach, underpinned by the Catholic values of love, respect, and care for one another. Children are encouraged to learn through collaboration, imagination, and exploration, developing key skills in language, mathematics, creativity, and physical development. Our aim is to nurture happy, confident, and resilient learners who are ready to thrive as they continue their journey through school.
At St. Joseph’s, the EYFS is more than just a starting point – it is the beginning of a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
