Welcome to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Stanford-le-Hope
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will always be given to Catholic children in accordance with the oversubscription criteria listed in the school's Admissions Policy.
As a Catholic school, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school's education is fully supported by all families in the school community. We therefore hope that all parents and carers will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school.
This does not affect the right of an applicant who is not Catholic to apply for and be admitted to a place at the school in accordance with the admissions arrangements.
The Local Governing Committee is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for admissions to the school. Thurrock Council undertakes the co-ordination of admission arrangements during the normal admissions round. [thurrock.gov.uk]
The Local Governing Committee has set its Published Admission Number (PAN) at 30 pupils for the Reception Year in the school year beginning September 2027.
The Local Governing Committee will, where logistically possible, admit twins and all siblings from multiple births where one of the children is the last child ranked within the school's Published Admission Number (PAN).
Where there are more applications than places available, places will be offered according to the oversubscription criteria detailed in the school's Admissions Policy.

Mid-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School at any time outside the normal admissions round. Children will be admitted where places are available within the relevant year group.
To make a mid-year application, parents and carers should complete:
• A Mid-Year Application Form
• A Supplementary Information Form (where applicable)
Completed forms should be returned to the school office by email or post.

Reception Admissions Process

Step 1
All applicants must complete the Thurrock Council Common Application Form (CAF) online via the Thurrock School Admissions website:

Step 2
If your child is a baptised Catholic, please provide:
• A copy of your child's Baptism Certificate.
• A Certificate of Catholic Practice (if applicable).
Applications received after the published closing date will be treated as late applications and considered in accordance with the school's Admissions Policy.
