It is my great privilege to welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

At St Joseph’s, we are a joyful, welcoming and inclusive Catholic community where every child is known, valued and loved. Inspired by Christ and guided by the Gospel, we want every child to experience a true sense of belonging, to achieve their very best and to thrive as confident, compassionate and courageous young people.

Our vision is simple: high expectations, consistency and fun for all. We believe that every child can achieve, and that every child deserves the opportunity to discover their talents, develop their strengths and overcome the challenges they encounter. We set high expectations for learning, behaviour and relationships, while creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported and excited to learn.

As a Catholic school, our faith is at the heart of everything we do. We seek to live out the teachings of Jesus not only through prayer and worship, but through the way we treat one another and the choices we make each day. Catholic Social Teaching is embedded throughout school life, helping our children to understand the dignity of every person, the importance of community, the common good, stewardship, solidarity and our responsibility to serve others.

We are proud of our strong links with the parish of Our Lady and St Joseph, our families and the wider Stanford-le-Hope community. Our children are encouraged to recognise that they have an important part to play in making our school, our community and our world a better place. We celebrate diversity and welcome the unique gifts, experiences and perspectives that every child and family brings to our school family.

We are also proud to be part of the Christus Catholic Trust, working alongside other Catholic schools across the Trust to strengthen Catholic education and ensure that our children receive the very best opportunities to learn, grow and flourish. Being part of our Trust gives us the opportunity to share expertise, learn from one another and work together in pursuit of excellence for every child.
