At St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we are committed to providing the very best education and care for every child. Our school improvement work is driven by a clear understanding of our pupils and our community. Leaders use a range of evidence to evaluate the quality of education and the experiences we provide, including:

A broad and ambitious curriculum

We are proud of our broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to build secure knowledge and skills over time while providing children with opportunities to make meaningful connections between subjects.

Our Learning Powers and SMART Values are embedded across school life, supporting children to become resilient, responsible, respectful and reflective learners.

Every child matters

Our Catholic identity is central to our approach. We seek to recognise the dignity and uniqueness of every child and ensure that pupils are supported to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

We are committed to inclusion and to removing barriers that may prevent children from achieving their potential. Strong relationships between pupils, staff, families, the parish and our wider community are an important part of this work.

Working together

School improvement is a shared responsibility. We work closely with our Christus Catholic Trust, governors, staff, pupils, parents, the parish and other partners to strengthen provision and improve outcomes.

We value honest reflection, professional challenge and collaboration. We celebrate what is working well while remaining ambitious about what we can do better.
